As part of the global CGG Group, Sercel Concept is a world leading provider of software systems and services. For nearly 40 years, our teams have been committed to delivering innovative, client-driven solutions. Our dedication to continuous development ensures that our customers not only have access to, but also help define the latest advances in technology. In addition to providing solutions to optimise the data quality, operational efficiency and transparency of offshore operations in the energy sector, Sercel Concept have a portfolio of innovative software and services for the marine industry including port and logistics. Seismic Acquisition Analysts and Specialists assist in optimising the design and implementation of complex seismic acquisition surveys utilising our comprehensive library of software tools. These roles involve onshore office based work (we are open to hybrid/remote options) and offshore work based on marine seismic vessels. The Acquisition Services team are a group of product experts that utilise the Concept Systems suit of software tools on complex surveys. We have worked with energy companies and seismic acquisition contractors on over 150 projects worldwide, each with their own unique requirements, constraints and challenges that need to be considered for operational planning. This is primarily on 4D, time lapse surveys, monitoring production reservoirs but also extends to 3D surveys with a high level of production activity, multi vessel acquisition considerations, complex current regimes or specific environmental compliance requirements. Offshore on seismic vessels, Analysts and Specialists monitor the current and tidal data in the area to create prediction models to understand the impact these have on the towed in-sea equipment. Combining this with the operational field information, the infield personnel work closely with the clients to ensure seismic acquisition is optimised to achieve the highest quality data as efficiently as possible. Offshore projects are supported by presurvey feasibility and planning studies carried out onshore to review existing data for the area, and investigate configuration options to determine the most effective strategy for the project. As well as the traditional seismic offerings, the Acquisition Services team are also heavily involved in deploying Concept Systems applications in new markets (such as logistics planning and port management) that may benefit from comprehensive planning, monitoring, and reporting solutions. The Acquisition Analyst is an entry level role, suitable for someone with transferrable skills but no seismic industry experience, whilst the Acquisition Specialist role is a more senior role designed for those with more relevant experience. We will provide extensive training in the Company’s leading industry software, workflows and practices. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic individual with a passion to develop their technical knowledge of navigation and survey systems. There is a career pathway in the team which allows people to develop into more senior technical and project related roles. These are roles which present a genuinely interesting challenge together with a variety of work environments. Our office is based in Edinburgh but remote and flexible working arrangements are also available. What are we looking for? We will provide extensive training so we are looking for candidates who have transferable knowledge and skills including: A mathematical/science, geophysical or GIS degree, or relevant work experience in the seismic industry or from a data analyst role Ability to learn Strong analytical and numerate skills Effective problem solving and reporting skills Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels Flexible and adaptable Ability to cope with variable periods away from home, sometimes in challenging environments Analyst level role - a recent graduate or professional early on in their career in a technical/analytical role Specialist level role - 3 to 5 years experience in a relevant role in the seismic or geophysical industry (navigation expertise preferable or other roles onboard seismic or surveying vessels (including processor) What would really help? A strong geophysical or GIS background is desirable but not essential Experience with Linux operating system Why work with us?
