The Opportunity
We are delighted to partner with a leading membership organisation representing a vital sector within UK healthcare to recruit a Policy & Public Affairs Officer. Based in St Albans, this role offers the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement, with just one day per week in the office. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with senior leaders to shape and deliver public affairs strategies that influence decision-making and champion the interests of members nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and nurture relationships with policymakers, MPs, and key stakeholders to advance advocacy priorities.
* Deliver impactful public affairs strategies and campaigns that enhance the organisation’s influence within the healthcare sector.
* Develop and communicate policy positions that align with organisational objectives and resonate with members.
* Monitor emerging developments within government and the healthcare landscape, sharing insights with internal teams.
* Support research projects, reports, and working groups to drive advocacy initiatives forward.
* Partner with external organisations to maximise the impact of campaigns and outreach efforts.
* Create briefings and coordinate stakeholder engagement, including organising visits with key decision-makers.
The Ideal Candidate
* Strong knowledge of government decision-making processes and stakeholder engagement.
* Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to analyse complex policy issues and provide clear, actionable solutions.
* Awareness of the UK healthcare sector and current public policy challenges.
* Excellent writing and presentation skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Proactive and organised, adept at managing competing priorities effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
Desirable: Experience in policy, public affairs, or campaign advocacy, particularly within healthcare or a membership-based organisation.
