Technical Compliance Officer – Wotton-under-Edge Full-time, Permanent | Competitive Salary & Benefits Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Friday 9:00am – 4:15pm Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Technical Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong task focus, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves maintaining compliance with industry standards such as BRCGS and M&S, managing raw material specifications, and ensuring product safety. A confident team player who can work independently, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, will excel in this position. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain company systems and procedures in line with BRCGS, M&S, and customer requirements. Conduct QC testing including water quality, environmental checks, and calibration. Manage Certificates of Analysis (CofAs) for raw materials, ensuring all products are safe, legal, and meet customer specifications. Act as the primary technical contact for the factory, addressing and resolving technical issues and customer queries. Oversee pest control contractors and coordinate lab sample dispatches. Support internal audits and procedure reviews, logging non-conformances and managing investigations. Manage Halal, Kosher, and Sedex certifications, ensuring compliance. Liaise with raw material suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Take on special projects relating to site-specific technical issues, preparing detailed reports as necessary. Assist in managing raw material data and specifications, providing support for writing company and customer specifications. Collaborate with the customer service team to log sample results, generate CofAs, and escalate out-of-specification results to the Technical Manager. Required Skills and Qualifications: Ideally, a degree in Food Science or a related field. Proven experience with HACCP, internal audits, and BRC/customer audits. Strong background in writing procedures and conducting QC testing. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). GCSEs (or equivalent) with at least a Grade B in Maths and English (both written and verbal). Excellent time management skills and a flexible approach to work. Full Right to Work in the UK.
