We are currently working with a school based in West Sussex and they are looking for an experenced SEN Learning Support Assistant on a full time basis, to start ASAP. Overview A distinguished special educational needs institution is looking for dedicated individuals to facilitate learning activities and support students across various classroom environments, including one-on-one sessions. This accredited school, with a commendable rating, serves students with autism, ADHD, and other complex needs. Most students have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Role: Learning Support Assistant Specific Duties Include: Working as directed by teachers and senior staff. Understanding how a pupil’s learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development, and comprehending child development stages. Utilizing ICT effectively for classroom and management support. Providing support and encouragement to children and young people. Motivating pupils and promoting self-esteem. Assisting in the marking of pupils’ work and recording progress accurately. Encouraging children to value their experiences and knowledge. Staying up to date with the school’s policies, including Health and Safety and Child Protection. Being familiar with the SEN Code of Practice.
