As a House Manager at Foxglove, you will play a key role in the effective delivery of support, advice, and care, ensuring adherence to Foxglove’s policies and procedures. You will help create a positive and empowering environment for our service users, respecting their choices and preferences, with a strong focus on promoting independence. You will manage and support a team of skilled Support Workers, providing guidance and development to help them meet their full potential. You will also provide valuable support to the Registered Manager and act as a point of contact for concerns and actions requiring resolution.
Main Duties
Service User Support:
1. Ensure that service users are at the center of all decision-making, respecting their preferences and life choices.
2. Develop and review person-centered care plans in consultation with service users, their families, professionals, and advocates.
3. Collaborate with multi-agency teams to provide holistic care.
4. Administer and monitor safe medication practices.
5. Oversee the safeguarding of service users and follow appropriate procedures if abuse is suspected.
6. Participate in the on-call rota, offering support as needed.
7. Assist with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs) and capacity assessments.
Staffing And Team Management
1. Provide daily operational support to the Registered Manager in the management of staff.
2. Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of the Support Worker team.
3. Manage staff performance, conducting supervisions, appraisals, and personal development plans (PDPs).
4. Organize staff rotas and ensure the team is properly supported at all times.
5. Hold regular team meetings to foster open communication and encourage feedback.
6. Ensure that all staff are aware of and follow company policies and procedures.
Home And Health & Safety
1. Ensure the safety and well-being of service users and staff by overseeing health and safety procedures and conducting regular audits.
2. Support the implementation of quality assurance systems and complete reports for manager meetings.
3. Develop and monitor cleaning and maintenance schedules to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
About The Role
Person Specification:
Essential
1. Qualifications: Minimum of NVQ 3 in Social Care (or equivalent).
2. Experience:
1. Previous experience in organizing and attending meetings.
2. Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
3. Proven track record of implementing care plans, risk assessments, and management plans.
3. Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the Mental Capacity Act.
2. Familiarity with essential safety standards and compliance.
3. Understanding of team dynamics, strengths, and areas for development.
4. Knowledge of CQC requirements and regulations.
4. Skills:
1. Strong leadership and team-building skills.
2. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
3. Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
4. Effective time management, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
5. Proficiency in IT and report writing.
5. Behaviours:

Desirable
1. Full, clean driving license.
