DN Colleges Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Chef to join our Catering Department. This role involves supporting learners in a real work environment, providing guidance and mentorship while ensuring strict adherence to health and safety, as well as food safety regulations. You will oversee the daily operations of the Waterfront kitchen, including the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals for service. This role is only working 38 weeks per year (term time only). The pro rata salary for this post is £22,939.39 - £25,012.35 Essential Criteria: English and Maths at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent). Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject. Recent experience of working within catering. Ability to receive and distribute materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to carry out routine and planned maintenance of equipment. Ability to conduct walk-round safety inspections. Effective communication skills with staff and learners. Willingness to acquire new skills relevant to the post. Ability to lift equipment and materials. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Support learners in a real work environment, providing guidance and mentorship. Oversee the daily operations of the Waterfront kitchen, including meal preparation and cooking. Manage food orders efficiently, collaborating with the Head Technician for procurement tasks. Maintain all required documentation related to safe working practices. Work collaboratively within a team to support theme evenings and open events. Incorporate sustainable produce into menu planning and execution. Ensure all activities align with clear business objectives and goals. Engage in professional development and participate in staff development activities. Communicate effectively with the Curriculum Lead and team members.
