This is an exciting pan Powys role for a therapist, it includes operational leadership and supervision of the MDT team, providing oversight and ensuring a high quality and effective service is maintained. You will be integral in leading on the development and strengthening rehabilitation pathways, disordered breathing pattern and interventions for breathlessness.
The community respiratory and oxygen service provides care to respiratory patients via domiciliary and clinic settings, Monday to Friday 9-5. You will be integral in promoting and maintaining a compassionate, responsive and enthusiastic team, alongside the specialist nurse team lead and respiratory clinical lead.
You will have experience of leading a clinical team, multidisciplinary and multi-agency working. Experience of managing and leading Advanced Clinical Practitioners is desirable. You will be able to evidence ongoing professional development, such as advanced clinical practice which is a desirable criterion for this post.
Main duties of the job
1. Work as an Advanced Practitioner in Respiratory Long-Term Conditions.
2. Demonstrate effective leadership creating an environment where staff treat individuals and each other with dignity and respect, there are high levels of trust, and empowerment, underpinned by effective communication, collaboration and partnership working in the field of long-term condition management.
3. Lead the development of appropriate pathways for people with Respiratory Long Term Conditions to ensure that they can access appropriate services to support their recovery and self-management.
4. Direct, lead and motivate staff to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, ensuring that activity is fully aligned to the plans and strategies of the Health Board.
5. Use recognised organisational development training (OD) techniques to contribute to the development of the clinical and managerial aspects of the service.
6. Work with colleagues in Workforce and Organisational Development and Senior Managers across the Health Board in the development and delivery of effective and efficient development programmes for the areas within their remit.
7. Contribute to ongoing learning, education and development strategy which supports the delivery of a competent workforce at all levels across the Health Board.
8. Acts as an adviser in the identification of development needs within specialist area and contributes to the achievement of delivery of appropriate development.
