Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to partner with a client in the not-for-profit sector in their search for a Trainee Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This newly created role has been designed to support and sustain their growth plans. Based in Edinburgh, the role offers a very flexible hybrid working policy. The Opportunity Our client operates across Edinburgh and is currently going through a period of commercialisation. They have developed a new strategy to increase turnover and enhance profitability. To support this growth plan, they have created this position. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments Supporting budgeting and forecasting Assisting the Finance Business Partner with ad hoc duties Providing cover for Accounts Payable when required Background and Experience The ideal candidate does not need to have experience in all of the above areas, as the client is willing to train, develop, and upskill the successful individual. An understanding of Accounts Payable and proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables) is required. Experience with Power BI would be advantageous. This position offers the successful candidate an excellent environment in which to study and progress through their chartered accountancy qualification, with the support of a flexible and collaborative organisation and a highly experienced Head of Finance.
