Responsibilities of this job role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Architectural Technologist to become part of our expanding Architectural team.
You will be required to realize preliminary designs into a buildable solution involving all aspects of Architectural delivery, coordinating detailed information across all disciplines, and providing a first point of contact to the site delivery team. There will also be a requirement to address package procurement and programming in accordance with design deliverables, respond to technical queries, review sub-contractor information, attend and lead Design Team and Coordination Meetings, support the Contractor during the build, and liaise with management on a monthly basis reporting on the status of the project.
You must have the ability to work well as part of an integrated Design team, have excellent attention to detail, efficiency, and quality. Be a people person and a good communicator with both clients and professional delivery staff. Capable of working without direct supervision and be competitive and ambitious in nature.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Provide strong technical design support to project teams and deliver successful projects in accordance with client requirements.
2. Undertake the role of team leader, working flexibly and independently where required in support of the project leader while efficiently managing one’s own time.
3. Manage and supervise technical project teams, along with Client and Contractor liaison.
4. Organize and coordinate Design Teams and sub-contractors.
5. Undertake tasks required for the day-to-day delivery of projects at all stages, including production of design deliverables, providing accurate technical information, addressing technical queries, conducting Site Inspections, performing condition surveys, monitoring delivery, and identifying proposed design changes which could impact fees, change controls, and program slippage to the Project Leader.
Qualifications
1. HNC/HND in Architecture/Building Construction or BSc in Architectural Technology or other recognized approved equivalents.
2. Eligible member of an appropriate professional institution (MCIAT or recognized approved equivalent).
3. Good understanding of Building Regulations and relevant Technical design guidance.
4. Proficiency in REVIT and Navisworks to achieve project delivery to Level 2 BIM.
