An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join our Older Peoples Therapy Team as a Senior Occupational Therapist.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be supported to enhance your clinical practice and develop extended skills in frailty, whilst working alongside our highly regarded and innovative Older Person's Team in the hospital. This role will encompass the use of excellent clinical and leadership skills, encouraging you to work holistically developing yourself and colleagues. You will receive regular supervision and training and have responsibility for the supervision of others and contribute to the team training programme.
This post will also provide you with opportunities to develop managerial skills and contribute to and lead on service development within the team and wider services.
This role requires: HCPC Registration
Base Location: Poole Hospital (moving to Royal Bournemouth site in 2026)
Interview Date: Aiming 29th April 2025
You will have the opportunity to develop specialised skills in frailty in a fast paced environment. Your caseload will enable you to promote optimising recovery with early assessment of occupational performance in daily living activities. Assessment and education of optimal moving and handling with appropriate equipment provision and assessment of cognition will be intrinsic to this role. You will need to work in partnership with health and community providers in the county to enable Discharge to Assess and Home First Principles.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to support patients within the acute hospital and within their own homes to ensure they receive the right service in the best place for them.

To be successful in securing this post, you will have:
• 2years experienceworking as an Occupational Therapistcovering core rotations
• Experience working at a junior level within the NHS is essential
• Willing toparticipatein 7dayworking on a rota basis
• Ability to drive, hold a cleandriverslicence and have access to a car for work purposes
