Job Description
At Cellular Highways, we develop advanced, automated high-throughput cell sorting instruments for research and clinical applications. This role is based within our manufacturing environment at our UK site in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire. As a Production Technician, you will be a key member of our small but growing operations team, and responsible for the volume manufacturing product consumable.
Consumable manufacture is an extremely important function and incorporates routine but complex micro fluidic assemblies. A high level of consistent quality is expected and an eye for detail.
Activities include high level parts inspection prior to assembly and end of line testing of completed assemblies. You will work predominantly in our Class 7 cleanroom and adhere to cleanroom protocols and an ISO 13845 quality management system. This role will also support many R&D activities relating to assembly build and processes of next generation products.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
* Responsibility for all consumable product manufacturing activities at the UK site, ensuring production timelines are met and escalating issues to Operations Management.
* Perform component enhanced inspection, mechanical build end of line test and component packing, all in accordance with internal procedures and protocols – particularly within our class 7 cleanroom.
* Maintain a safe, clean and organised workspace, contributing to high operational standards.
* Act as a proactive advocate for continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
* Support the development of new manufacturing requirements, and procedures relating to new product introduction.
Your work shall be conducted in accordance with the Cellular Highways Quality Management System. Cellular Highways is committed to meeting customer requirements and applicable regulatory requirements and considers these elements to be essential to its success.
Qualifications
Requirements
* Good practical and technical skills.
* Ability to work methodically and precisely.
* Ability to maintain high levels of consistent quality.
* Confident at reading and understanding engineering drawings.
* Volume micro component fluid assembly / or similar complex assembly experience.
* Previous experience of class cleanroom environments and practices.
* Demonstrated assembly experience within a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within medical devices or life sciences.
* High attention to detail.
* Strong problem-solving skills and happy to be a team member and support colleagues.
