Vehicle Systems Engineer
Level: Senior or Principal Engineer
This role includes technical design and development tasks. You will be expected to take on technical design and development responsibilities delivering them to a high standard and with a high level of independence. The role will include all aspects of vehicle system design from initial requirements identification through to delivery; technically ranging from high level architecture, through wiring and systems integration to control software application calibration and deployment.
Technical responsibilities:
1. Vehicle level system architecture design.
2. High, low voltage and communication systems design.
3. Vehicle electrical systems integration design.
4. Safety analysis and design processes.
5. Real time embedded control software design and development.
6. Test rig design and implementation.
7. Application test, calibration and validation.
8. Documentation of all steps in the process.
Skills required:
1. Vehicle systems architecture design.
2. Wiring Loom design.
3. Analysis: Data logging and analysis.
4. Vehicle communications systems including CAN and LIN along with associated tools such as PEAK, Vector CANalyzer/CANoe.
5. Safety analysis including FMEA, HazOP.
6. Electronic system test, calibration and validation.
7. Good experience of PC applications Word, Excel, Visio, Project etc.
Beneficial Skills:
1. Software: Matlab, Simulink, C/C++, PC applications (Visual studio).
2. Understanding of the mechanical, thermal and other vehicle systems.
3. Knowledge of ISO26262.
4. Automotive quality systems and processes.
5. Practical capabilities: Wiring loom build, repair, mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience beneficial.
