Job summary
We are looking for an exceptional Emergency Care Practitioner to join us as a senior member of our team at Gravesend Urgent Treatment Centre.
Our urgent treatment centres are run by a team of multi-skilled practitioners. We see patients who have booked an appointment via the 111 service and offer a walk service to treat minor injuries and illness.
Main duties of the job
As a senior member of the team, you'll manage the assessment, diagnosis and the implementation of highly specialised care for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
You will provide clinical expertise, professional leadership and education, ensuring high standards of evidence-based clinical practice at all times.
Many aspects of the work will be complex and you'll need be sure to prioritise your work in the face of competing demands for your time and limited resources.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
1. Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration.)
2. Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
3. Management or supervisory qua Evidence of Post Graduate Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples -: Non-medical prescribing; Mentorship, Coaching, Minor Illness Management, Minor Injury Management, Consultation skills, Physical Examination skills, X-Ray interpretation / Red Dot / IR(ME)R) ification / programme of study
Desirable
4. Experience in UTC and Primary Care environment PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education Working towards Master level study
EXPERIENCE
Essential
5. Evidence of NHS and Clinical experience in area of practice (UTC), including experience at band 5 and minimum of 2 years' experience at band 6 in Acute Care / Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) with evidence of development and consolidation of skills.
6. Evidence of supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
7. Practical experience in managing health related projects.
8. Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management.
9. Experience of leading and managing teams
10. Evidence of a minimum of two years at band 6 in an NHS UTC environment.
Desirable
11. Experience with the use of Clinical software systems and Microsoft systems and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / Eroster/ AT-P/ CIS)
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Essential
12. Evidence of an understanding of UK National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to the UTC care setting and its application across NHS health care services
13. Evidence of supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
14. Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations
15. Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months
