Registered Nursing Associate - Paediatric Bladder & Bowel Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nursing Associate with the Paediatric Continence Service covering Greater Manchester.
The role of the successful candidate is to work with the Registered Nurses and other members of the multi-professional team, providing advice, support, and regular reviews in line with the service pathways.
The successful candidate will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan, providing holistic, family-centred care and support for people of all ages in a variety of settings. They will work independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses, within the sphere of nursing and care.
Nursing Associates will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours relevant to employment; and will act in accordance with local and national guidance.
The successful candidate will conduct product reassessments via home visits, telephone, and school visits; be responsible for running group toilet training sessions along with the Nursery Nurse; running bladder scan and constipation clinics (training will be given). The successful candidate will conduct an initial assessment to determine the correct pathway for the child, then provide ongoing advice and support to them. This support will extend to further areas of care such as respite carers, children's homes, and schools. They will then support the transition of patients to adult services.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide compassionate, safe, and effective care and support to children in a range of care settings, including home, hospital, and school.
2. Monitor the condition and health needs of patients within their care on a continual basis in partnership with patients, families, and carers, ensuring appropriate escalation to a Registered Nurse when required.
3. Support children/young people and their families to improve and maintain their mental, physical, and behavioural health and well-being.
4. Care for a patient's nursing needs whilst promoting comfort and well-being, ensuring their personal and social needs are met.
5. Safely undertake tasks for which you have gained competence to perform ensuring that the patient is the main focus of the procedure or activity.
6. Work with the Registered Nurse and engage with other health and social agencies to ensure a safe, individualised approach to the care of the child/young person.
7. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous patient records in line with Trust policy and national guidance.
8. Provide effective evidence-based care for service users under the supervision of Registered Nurses in order to perform nursing activities, in line with clinical governance and professional standards.
