As Senior Finance Business Partner, you’ll lead the team that is responsible for telling the story of our financial performance. You will provide challenge and insight to support Nationwide in setting and achieving its financial plans.
You will build strong relationships with teams across Nationwide and Virgin Money to develop financial forecasts and provide insight into financial performance. You will use your excellent analytical skills to draw conclusions and produce materials for ExCo and the Board that enables them to monitor and assess the organisation’s performance.

What you’ll be doing
You will be:
* Communicating forecast and actual financial results to senior stakeholders, adding insight by identifying key issues in business performance, drawing on standard and ad-hoc analysis.
* Working closely with the Income and Balance Sheet Modelling Centre of Excellence, business partnering teams and the Treasury team to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of financial forecasts.
* Bringing together key stakeholders to agree financial forecast assumptions and ensure consistency.
* Developing the requirements for enhancing reporting capability of actual and forecast financial performance, for Nationwide and the Group.
* Providing finance policy advice to the senior management team, and maintaining key financial guardrails such as Board Risk Appetite metrics and the Return on Capital framework.
* Leading a team, motivating, and developing the business partner skillset, whilst managing workload across the team effectively.
About you
As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to have:
* An accounting qualification, with significant post qualification experience.
* Proven experience in building strong working relationships with and influencing a wide-ranging level of stakeholders.
* Experience in producing clear and insightful committee papers.
* A strong understanding of the income and balance sheet dynamics for a bank or building society.
* A proactive approach to managing workload & projects along with the ability to deal with and prioritise conflicting demands.
* Drive and enthusiasm to continually enhance the insight that can be provided on financial performance.
* Proven experience of working in a highly controlled environment.
