UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH), a world leading centre for excellent science across water, land & air, is looking for an experienced Marketing and Business Development Executive! Here at UKCEH our scientists provide the data, insights and solutions that researchers, governments and businesses need to create a productive, resilient and healthy environment.
We have a great opportunity for a Marketing and Business Development Executive to join the Business and Partnership Development Functionat UKCEH. You will have a good experienceof relationship building and nurturing, an appetite to learn, including about UKCEH science, and enthusiasm to work in a small and growing team.
You’ll be joining a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute that’s committed to recruiting talented people like you, progressing your career and giving you the support you need to thrive at UKCEH.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Support the delivery of the Business and Partnership Development planwhich is key to achieving the UKCEH Strategy 2030
2. Lead on event logistics where target audience is private and/or third sector
3. Manage CRM system on a day-to-day basisincluding contact/enquiry follow-up, lead qualification, and support to other users
4. Organise / coordinate meetings with key stakeholders
5. Understand and monitor the market, identifying opportunities and threats
6. Identify relevant content to usein marketing activities and provide support with regular digital marketingcampaigns
7. Support internal communication and engagement with staff – highlighting areas where the function can support science staff and maintaining the flow of ideas from staff through the function
8. Help generatenew ideas for marketing and business development campaigns
For the role of Marketing and Business Development Executive, we’re looking for somebody who is/has:
9. Educated to degree level, preferably with marketing qualifications
10. Previous experience in a marketing or sales team, in direct contact with customers, informing lead qualification or persona building
11. An affable and professional engagement and communication style that will project a positive impression of UKCEH
12. Previous experience of customer relationship management systems (HubSpot or equivalent) for both marketing and sales uses
13. Previous experience of using LinkedIn for relationship building
14. A focus on attention to detail and ability to communicate and write clearly
15. Able to organise a varied workload, prioritise tasks and work to short deadlines
16. A strong user of Microsoft Office
17. An understanding and appreciation of environmental issues would be preferable
