This role is responsible for generating new business and developing new customer relationships by recording all potential leads for the sales team in the CRM. Supporting the conversion of these leads by making initial customer contact via phone and other formats to gain their interest in our products and services. Encouraging dedicated discussions with our Sales Account Managers and the opening of new business accounts.
Responsibilities and Objectives:
* Prospect companies in target industries, including but not limited to Contract Testing laboratories, Food and Beverage Manufacturing, Cosmetics Manufacturing, Water Testing, Dairy, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices.
* To successfully liaise and work closely with Sales Account Managers in order to develop new business opportunities, within their territories.
* Use Sales Navigator on Linked-In to research and identify new companies and contacts as potential customers.
* Register for relevant industrial newsletters and scope new potential clients or record any investment/expansion opportunities in existing customers.
* Calling potential businesses to uncover further information about their lab requirements and gauging who would be best contacts for the sales account managers to liaise with.
* Research potential customer websites and note where their facilities are based in the UK.
* Update and maintain CRM – Customer contacts, connections and allocate potential leads to the local Territory account manager.
* Promote the company capabilities and unique selling points to gain the interest of suitable clients
* Follow up on introductory emails or calls to remind the customer and seek any interest
* Provide monthly updates on the conversion of leads into sales opportunities and new customer wins to the Sales Manager along with customer feedback.
* Engage in Market Research in order to uncover new business opportunities in territory
The successful applicant will be:
* A strong communicator and confident in speaking to customers on the phone/MS Teams.
* Highly driven and motivated individual who is resilient and determined to succeed.
* Ability to overcome objections or barriers by developing new ways to succeed.
* Self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised day-to-day.
* Active listener who can absorb customer information and record feedback.
* A good understanding of our company values, products and services overview of life science laboratory equipment and consumables.
* Great networking skills and able to build rapport quickly with new customers.
* Superior organisational skills in order to effective plan a dynamic working schedule.
* Experienced in telecommunications or market research; using platforms such as LinkedIn.
