Temporary Underwriting Assistant opportunity to support underwriting within the London Wholesale Property team for new and renewal open market business, based in London.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Assisting Underwriters in recording risk details on underwriting system; building broker relationships as required; developing knowledge of the class of business and the accounts written, retrieving data for underwriters as requested.
2. Liaise with underwriters to ensure correct interpretation of data for accuracy and completeness.
3. Maintain underwriting documentation/files, keeping all documentation in order.
4. Liaise with credit control team - answering queries, tracking, and monitoring premium using core underwriting systems. Oversee premium notice of cancellation process undertaken by credit control.
5. Liaise with Brokers regarding premium income monitoring, late premiums, and premium cancellations. Collate responses and manage queries.
6. Work with underwriting support functions to respond to regulatory control and exception reports and ensure adherence to common standards across the class.
7. Work with underwriting team to develop requirements for statistical and analytical reports for Underwriting function.
8. Monitor renewal lists and action renewals as required.
9. Work with underwriting support functions to resolve data entry queries.
10. Work closely with shared services as required to ensure accurate and timely service to underwriters and clients.
11. Potential for experience assisting with actuarial based account modelling.
12. Other ad-hoc duties and projects as required.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. Minimum good A-level standard of education or equivalent business experience.
2. General computer competency, including experience using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Experience on insurance data entry systems and processes would be beneficial, but not essential.
3. Have a logical approach to complex data.
4. Ability to communicate effectively.
5. Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Accurate and exceptional attention to detail.
7. Excellent proactive organization skills and ability to plan and prioritize work.
8. Ability to get stuck in and be a team player for all business needs.
9. Property experience would be beneficial but not essential.
10. Modelling experience would be beneficial but not essential.
