Company Accountant
We are recruiting for a Company Accountant (also referred to internally as Senior Financial Analyst) to join our team on a permanent basis, to be based at our Pencoed facility. Hybrid remote working is available for this role, with a need to travel to site 1-2 days per week.
About QuidelOrtho, Pencoed:
QuidelOrtho has been manufacturing products in South Wales for over 40 years. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, based in Pencoed, employs over 600 people who are involved in the manufacture and supply of clinical laboratory and immunohematology products to sites across the globe. Our Pencoed team manufacture a large menu of immunohematology products used in transfusion medicine; in addition to a large menu of immunoassay products encompassing a range of disease categories. Onsite we have a range of functions operating globally & locally. All our employees are working towards one common goal, to help save and improve lives through diagnostics.
Your new role:
Within your new role you will support UK and US Plants with the preparation of the UK Legal entity, and UK Group Statutory Accounts, including all responsibilities surrounding the legal entity with respect to VAT, Tax, and companies house legal requirements. The role will also consist of business partnering with the UK commercial team, FP&A and supporting areas, with the added responsibilities supporting the Pompano manufacturing plant remotely with its financials, forecasting and stock taking activities.
What you'll be doing:
* UK Legal entity statutory accounts preparation including being responsible for ensuring that we remain compliant with legal requirements surrounding Companies House, HMRC, climate reporting and Customs. Being the lead liaison with HMRC and UK Directors.
* UK annual tax return preparation including capital allowances, group relief, and quarterly payments on account. Review and approve monthly VAT returns and work with Shared services and external consultants to maximise foreign VAT claims and Tax relief.
* Support remotely the Pompano Manufacturing plant with their financial analysis and monthly reporting, including forecast updates and understanding manufacturing variances, Actuals VS Plan. Presenting monthly results and quarterly forecast updates to the VP of Manufacturing and VP of Finance Operations.
* Business partnering with departments, forecast vs Actuals. Looking for productivity opportunities and preparing site headcount reports.
* Balance Sheet reconciliations, and month end responsibilities, with journal preparation and quarterly reporting packs. Including Tax Packs and Royalty calculations.
* AGP reporting and FX Analysis, including intercompany reporting and reconciliations.
* Lead liaison with external auditors, Statutory and SOX. Organise the team with their responsibilities and ensure that we maintain high standards of compliance, meeting all deadlines in a timely manner.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Qualified Account (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent (2 years post qualification experience)
* Candidate must possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions). Experience with SAP and OneStream is preferred but not essential.
* Understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles (preferred but not essential).
* The candidate must possess the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization.
* Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are required.
* This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity and leadership skills.
* The ability to work well in a dynamic environment, think creatively and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
