Stafforce are working with our client in Peterlee to recruit a Saw Operative on a temporary to permanent basis. Working in our goods in area, you will be involved in unloading vehicles delivering raw materials, dealing with goods in documentation and movement of materials around the factory.
Applicants must have: a full Counterbalance and overhead crane licence. Experience of operating Bandsaws would be an advantage but not essential. Experience of operating machines or working within steel (full training will be given).
Main Duties:
1. Cutting of heavy steel to computer generated cutting lists
2. Moving of bar length materials both pre and post cutting
3. Loading and unloading finished goods with overhead crane/forklift
4. Using an overhead crane/forklift to load product on and off machine
5. Set up and running of a machine, no programming
6. Conduct QA inspections of incoming materials for damage
7. Conduct inter-cutting QA checks to ensure effective use of material
Role Requirements:
1. Experience working in industrial and heavy industrial environments
2. Counterbalance FLT licence
3. Overhead Crane Licence
4. Excellent communication
5. Ability to inspect own work
6. Ability to read engineering drawings
7. Excellent eye for detail
8. Flexibility with regards to shifts and over-time
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday - Back shift Monday to Thursday 14.00-12am - 10 hours
Pay: £15 per hour plus 25% shift allowance per hour Monday to Thursday
