Specialist teaching asisstant A specialist provision school in Blackpool are hiring for teaching assistants to provide additional support in the classrom. If you are confident with supporting children with special educational needs or Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties then this role could be for you. You must be passionate about encouraging good behaviour and promoting positive learning and development. We require candidates to have experience in supporting young people or adults previously, not necessarily in an educational setting. The school, in partnership with parents, carers and other agencies aims to provide for pupils, a safe and stimulating learning environment, creating opportunities for academic and personal success. Are you? Compassionate Empathetic Supportive Encouraging Nurturing Positive Key Duties: Support pupils throughout the school day, potentially following individualised timetables. Support pupils across the specialist provision and develop a good rapport with the pupils to ensure positive outcomes are achieved. Help pupils to support their speech, language, and communication. Consider the choices, needs, and wishes of each pupil and encourage them to make the right choices for learning. Encourage good behaviour. Assist the teacher in planning and delivering lessons. Important Information: Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm). Start date: September 2024. Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis. PAYE contract.
