About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist specializing in imaging technologies and oncology to join our expanding Translational Oncology Department at Alderley Park.
In this role, you will support in vivo aspects of drug discovery projects, utilizing specialist oncology disease models and driving the development and application of imaging capabilities within the department. Expertise in live imaging platforms, specifically bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging, is essential.

Principal Responsibilities
1. Apply scientific and technical knowledge in the use of imaging platforms (bioluminescence and fluorescence) for in vivo oncology models.
2. Leverage oncology pharmacology models to advance drug discovery.
3. Provide technical oversight in areas of expertise.
4. Independently plan, design, and execute work plans, managing time effectively to meet project goals.
5. Conduct critical analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
6. Coordinate and deliver high-quality scientific data and interpretations to clients and project teams.
7. Present scientific findings, interpretations, and recommendations internally and externally with minimal guidance.
8. Provide guidance or mentorship to less experienced team members.
9. Potentially supervise junior team members.
10. Contribute scientific, technical, and commercial insights to new project proposals, showcasing an understanding of the drug discovery process.
11. Represent the company at industry events.
Key Requirements
1. PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent.
2. Proven experience in oncology drug discovery, ideally within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting.
3. Expertise in live imaging techniques within in vivo oncology models.
4. Proficiency in using in vivo oncology models for drug discovery.
5. Strong analytical skills for interpreting and solving complex data sets.
6. Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
7. Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work under pressure.
8. Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Knowledge of ASPA 1986 regulations.
11. High ethical and welfare standards, with attention to detail.
12. Self-motivated, with excellent record-keeping skills.
