We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Stroke Consultant to join a well-established healthcare team in Derby, UK. This role is available on both a permanent and contract basis, offering flexibility to suit individual career preferences.
As a Stroke Consultant, you will play a vital role in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of stroke patients, ensuring the highest standards of patient care while contributing to service development and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the care and management of acute stroke patients, including thrombolysis and thrombectomy services.
* Oversee stroke rehabilitation programs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient recovery.
* Provide specialist advice on stroke prevention, diagnosis, and long-term management.
* Supervise and support junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals in stroke care.
* Participate in stroke unit ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Contribute to clinical governance, research, audits, and service development initiatives.
* Deliver teaching and training sessions for medical students, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements

* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Stroke Medicine, Neurology, Geriatrics, or General Medicine (or equivalent).
* Extensive NHS experience in stroke medicine.
* Strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
