Arla Foods currently have an opportunity for a Nights Operations Manager at our National Distribution Centre based in Leeds which employs over 250 colleagues across the Fresh Milk and Pallet operation within the warehouse.
Working a Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11pm shift pattern the role is part of the site’s Senior Leadership team and will report to the Site General Manager, an element of flexibility may be required on the working hours. The successful candidate will manage 4 direct reports and be responsible for overseeing up to 100 members of staff on the night shift rota.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities involve improving efficiencies through continuous improvement & enhanced performance in line with the company's strategy & key performance indicators. The ability to develop people, identify talent & succession plan will be fundamental.
The main responsibilities for this role are:
1. Ensures that the department complies with Arla Foods’ standards, policies as well as applicable law and Health, Safety & Food safety procedures and mindset.
2. Leads the direction for the department and contributes to the development of the site business plan.
3. Lead, coach, manage & develop the night management team.
4. Communicate & deliver business goals, prioritising goals & activities as necessary.
5. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal & external.
6. Proactively participates in strategic projects.
7. Responsible for daily labour planning in order to ensure deliveries.
8. Ensures compliance with delivery agreements from the production sites.
9. Participates in projects, courses and other development activities.
Skills
Suitable applicants will ideally have proven experience gained as a Senior Manager. The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing people & change within an FMCG environment & will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
