As a Technical Art Intern, you'll have the exciting opportunity to enhance your skills, deepen your knowledge, and kindle your passion for tooling and pipeline support, all while being guided by our talented art team.
Your primary focus will be collaborating with the Environment Art team to craft impressive assets and immersive worlds using innovative tooling and procedural solutions, all while gaining first-hand experience in the workflow of our Technical Art team. Be sure to showcase an inspiring Technical Art portfolio that reflects your strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
Responsibilities :
* Work closely with leads and Tech Art team to maintain and improve art workflows for our in-house engine.
* Begin to understand and be able to guide Art on best practices, workflows and performance optimisations.
* Reference game design documents to gain an understanding of the project.
* Track and update the progress of day-to-day tasks using JIRA.
* Collaborate with project team on task direction and quality of own work.
* Assist with optimisation and debugging to fix issues.
* Develop your skills, knowledge, and passion for Technical Art.
Requirements
* You have a Technical Art portfolio containing personal or educational projects.
* You are completing a university placement year, are a career switcher, or an aspiring Technical Artist with no or minimal Game Development industry experience.
* You're a self-learner with a passion and excitement for game development and Technical Art.
* Your portfolio projects use a game engine such as Unreal or Unity.
* Good knowledge of fundamental Environment Art pipelines.
* Solid understanding of 2D and 3D packages for game development workflows.
* Fundamental understanding of runtime performance costs and how to optimise content.
* Willing to learn 3D software such as Blender.
