The Role
Social Work England are the specialist regulator for social work in England, focused on enabling positive change in social work. The recruitment officer will provide support across our recruitment activity. They will be responsible for clear candidate communication, facilitating accessibility and any adjustments required to support a fair and transparent recruitment process. They will also support the recruitment manager and wider people and development team in implementing improvements.
What you will do
* Be the first point of contact for enquiries from candidates, giving advice and guidance on our processes and policy.
* To liaise with and support managers on their recruitment needs, including assisting on the drafting of job descriptions and person specifications, creating adverts, liaising with advertisers and internal teams to post vacancies on our jobs page.
* Arrange interviews, update the recruitment system to ensure recruiting managers have all information required, and chaperone interviews online and in person.
* Facilitate and deliver training for recruiting managers and interview panel members on our policies and procedures, supporting a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process.
* Produce reports as required from our recruitment and HR system.
* Produce and distribute all onboarding documentation for new starters.
* Responsible for compliance with right to work requirements.
* Update and maintain the recruitment plan, identifying and escalating risks as required.
* Develop and implement improvements to our recruitment documentation and processes and effectively communicate changes to the people and development team and other key stakeholders.
Your Skills, Knowledge And Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced environment, providing administrative support, ideally in recruitment.
* Ability to work with senior leaders and provide clear advice.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* An ability to work independently and enthusiastically, taking responsibility for timely delivery of objectives.
* Experience of working with IT systems, preferably within recruitment and/or human resources.
* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create and present clear, well-structured documents.
* Excellent oral and listening skills.
* A strong team player, capable of developing effective relationships.
* A demonstrable commitment to inclusion and diversity.

* Job type: Fixed-term until 29 August 2025.
* Working pattern: Full time. We offer flexible working subject to business need.
* Salary: £29,063.
* Location: Sheffield/Hybrid.
* Benefits: flexible working, contributory pension, life insurance, and benefits portal.
