We’re seeking dedicated Workshop Supervisors to lead diverse, hands-on workshops at HMP Millsike, including Laundry, Tea Packing, Waste Management, and our Haven programme. In this impactful role, you’ll support the rehabilitation journey of learners by equipping them with practical skills, building their confidence, and fostering their personal growth to reduce re-offending. As a Workshop Supervisor (known internally as an Industry Instructor), you’ll oversee day-to-day operations, guide learners through practical tasks, and maintain a safe, productive environment. This role is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by helping individuals gain valuable skills for employment and reintegration. What You’ll Do: Lead and Develop Learners : Support learners on their skill-building journey, identifying individual needs and providing coaching to enhance their potential. Ensure Workshop Safety and Compliance : Conduct regular risk assessments and uphold health and safety standards to create a secure and productive environment. Manage Inventory and Operations : Oversee inventory and daily workshop tasks to maintain an organised and efficient workflow. Collaborate Across Teams : Work alongside colleagues to support a cohesive environment focused on learner success and rehabilitation. What We’re Looking For: Laundry Workshop : Strong background in the textile industry, with supervisory experience in a production or similar environment. Knowledge of fabric handling, laundering techniques, and maintenance of industrial laundry equipment. Tea Packing Workshop : General supervisory experience in production, with a solid understanding of packaging processes and quality control. Waste Management Workshop : Qualifications or experience in waste management, with a strong understanding of waste handling procedures and recycling. Supervisory experience in a related field is preferred. Haven Workshop : Supervisory experience in crafting, recycling, or production work, with a commitment to mentoring and supporting those post-retirement age or with mobility issues, in skill-building and personal growth.
