About the role Based in the media and communications unit, this is a key position at the heart of a large, high-performing council - and you'll play a lead role in promoting and protecting the councils reputation. Majoring on strong management of online, social and traditional media, youll also help to lead a multi-disciplined comms team, developing and overseeing effective and creative external and internal campaigns. This post is politically restricted therefore the post holder is disqualified from undertaking certain political activities under the Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990. About you To apply for this post, you must: Be educated to degree level or equivalent - or equivalent level of relevant experience Have an eye for a story, a strong understanding of journalism and a honed risk radar Able to build strong internal and external relationships - and influence effectively Have excellent verbal and written comms skills - and be able to create content for different channels and audiences Adept at designing, delivering and evaluating comms strategies and implementation plans Understand the role comms plays within a large, complex organisation You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to,equality, diversity and inclusion.
