Job Description:
We are looking for a specialty doctor grade psychiatrist to join our friendly, cohesive multidisciplinary team. The post holder's main role is to provide clinical input and support team members of the Community Mental Health Team, which provides mental health services to adult patients of working age (18-65) in the South Hams area of Devon.
This is a full-time, community-based post. The post holder will be mainly based at the Devon Partnership Trust base at Leatside Surgery, Totnes, where admin space and secretarial support will be provided. The work is under the support and supervision of Dr. Daniela Murgoci, Consultant Psychiatrist.
The post holder would be supported to construct a personal development plan with the support of the line manager (consultant psychiatrist supervising the post holder), and will have dedicated weekly SPA time, study leave, and funding to support continuing professional development. This is a fixed-term post for 24 months. This may be renewed depending on service need.
Main Duties of the Job
The Community Mental Health Team provides assessment and ongoing treatment for patients with severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs. The post holder is expected to be actively involved in assessments, considering diagnosis, and creating treatment plans based on evidence-based treatment guidelines.
The post holder is expected to work in close liaison and collaboratively with other services/agencies. The post holder would be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team, being actively involved in the consultation and treatment of complex cases and attend multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to assist with clinical decision making, including ongoing treatment plans and discharge arrangements.
