Job Role: Head of Housing Community
Department: Housing and Community
Contract type: Permanent / 37.5 Hours PW
Location: Northamptonshire
Job Purpose:
This role is pivotal within the 'housing & community' service and will be responsible for supporting the Director of Housing & Community in providing a high-quality service across the whole portfolio and managing a team of managers.
We are looking for an experienced senior Manager to lead a team to support, encourage, and develop the organization's housing & community activities to provide positive outcomes for all.
The post holder will have the necessary skills and experience to foster a culture of excellent customer service, genuine care for residents, and a strong sense of team spirit to maximize outcomes for residents.
General Responsibilities:
* Lead the preparation of documents for inspections, audits, funding, and commissioning bids.
* Support the Director of Housing & Community in securing appropriate external housing accreditations.
* Represent the organization at appropriate external meetings/conferences.
* Carry out specific tasks as instructed by the Head of Housing.
* Work with Managers to develop a culture that supports the inclusive ethos of the organization.
Operational Service Management:
* Develop and deliver a proactive approach to supporting residents from the streets to independence.
* Manage a dispersed team of professionals across a wide geographical area.
* Monitor service delivery in line with policies and procedures.
* Manage administration processes and information management systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Monitor and evaluate staff performance in key areas.
* Maintain service effectiveness by auditing service provision and data.
* Lead the development and delivery of resident/service user engagement strategies.
* Be the operational lead for Safeguarding, Complaints, and Health & Safety.
Finance:
* Ensure financial controls regarding the receipt, recording, and banking of monies are adhered to.
* Ensure invoice requests, authorisation, and payment are carried out in accordance with the organization's procedures.
* Undertake regular reviews of management accounts with service managers.
Performance Management and Staff Development:
* Hold regular performance meetings with managers to ensure compliance and continuous service improvement.
* Motivate managers to achieve performance standards and a customer-focused service.
* Identify learning, development, and training needs for managers.
* Contribute to the continual development of the service's policies and procedures.
* Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures.
