The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are looking for an enthusiastic Locally Employed Foundation Year 2 Doctor in ENT at Queens Hospital in Burton on Trent.
This is a great opportunity to be appointed on a full time, 4 month fixed term contract commencing 2nd April 2025 until 5th August 2025.
An opportunity has arisen for this appointment to join out team on a 4 month fixed term post, to experience ENT in an outpatient setting, in theatre, the emergency department and on the wards. This post is for someone with an interest in ENT who has completed their foundation year 1 training or equivalent.
Participate in the day-to-day provision of routine and emergency medical care to a level appropriate to the Foundation Year 2 under the supervision of a senior member of the department.
You will liaise with nursing, medical and Para-medical staff to ensure smooth running of the service and will be expected to keep senior colleagues informed and seek advised as and when necessary.
This is a locally employed position and is not recognised for training. However, whilst in post you will be afforded the same training opportunities as substantive doctors in post. An active educational programme is operated in the Medical Educational Centre and within the various departments.
Every month there is a hospital Educational Half Day in the Medical Education Centre. One educational half day every six months is reserved for junior doctors’ presentation.
