Role: Advanced Dietician
Town / Site: London / The Portland Hospital, 205 – 209 Great Portland Street.
Part time: 3 days per week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 20.15 hours per week
Shift times: 8am – 3pm or 9am – 4pm

We’re looking for an Advanced Dietician to join our Dietetics team at The Portland Hospital currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The Portland Hospital is the only private dedicated children’s hospital in the UK. It has a 15 bed PICU covering general medicine and cardiac surgery. There are dedicated surgical and neuro-rehab wards where dietitians work closely with other members of the AHP teams to provide world class care. We have the only established private ketogenic diet therapy service for refractory epilepsy in the UK.
As an Advanced Dietician, you will provide expert assessment, management and education for paediatric patients requiring specialist dietetic and nutrition intervention by using evidence-based practice and conforming to best practice guidelines. You routinely complete research and development by initiating, planning and undertaking clinical audits/research projects to evaluate and develop the specialist dietetic service and produce evidence-based resources, policies and guidelines and to provide education and training to dietitians, student dietitians and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) to facilitate continuous learning and development. You will also be responsible for managing a grade 6 dietician. Caseload will also include NICU and parenteral nutrition with a desirable Keto element. As part of the dietetic team you will be encouraged and supported to complete regular CPD and have opportunities to attend cutting edge conferences in the world of nutrition and dietetics. The Portland dietetic team consists of the lead dietitian, a grade 7 and grade 6.

What you’ll bring:
1. Bachelor or master degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
2. HCPC Registered
3. Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA)
4. Four years post registration clinical experience
5. At least two years’ experience in paediatrics
6. Evidence of a CPD portfolio
