Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
Step Teachers are working with a lovely all-girls school in Tower Hamlets to find a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join them ASAP. This role is temporary working 4 days a week Tues to Fri up until Easter. It’s an exciting opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the safety and well-being of the school’s students while supporting a nurturing and empowering school community.

As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in implementing and maintaining the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Acting as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns, offering guidance and support to staff, students, and parents.
* Responding promptly to safeguarding issues, ensuring concerns are recorded and acted upon appropriately.
* Liaising with external agencies, including social services and the local safeguarding board, to ensure effective multi-agency collaboration.
* Supporting staff training and raising awareness of safeguarding best practices across the school.
* Monitoring and reviewing safeguarding systems to ensure they remain effective and compliant with statutory guidance.
Requirements - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead:
We are looking for a committed professional with:
* Relevant safeguarding training and qualifications, with a thorough understanding of statutory safeguarding requirements (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education).
* Experience working in a pastoral or safeguarding role, ideally in a school setting.
* Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills.
* The ability to remain calm and professional when managing sensitive or challenging situations.
* A strong commitment to promoting the safety and well-being of students.
