Main duties of the job To be responsible for taking a lead role in providing effective therapeutic substance misuse recovery services. As senior substance misuse practitioner within a multi-disciplinary team in a prison setting, you will be required to offer care to patients with complex substance misuse problems, many with co-occurring mental health issues, from the point of entry into the prison system to re-entry into the community so that re-offending is reduced and the health and social functioning of the individual is improved. You will be expected to deliver high quality and compassionate care through appropriate assessment, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions for men with substance misuse problems working to both harm reduction and health promotion / recovery agendas.
