Fire Risk Assessor

Contract
The Role:
* Conduct Type 1, 3, and 4 fire risk assessments in domestic housing and council-managed properties.
* Work with the Fire Risk Assessment Manager and Building Safety Manager to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
* Manage contractors for destructive inspections and ensure high-quality remedial work.
* Perform post-inspections and quality assurance following assessments.
* Oversee the completion of fire safety actions and necessary works via contractors.
* Conduct fire risk assessments, pre- and post-occupation surveys, and major works inspections.
* Provide fire safety advice to residents, managers, and staff to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Investigate fire incidents, identify hazards, and recommend safety improvements.
* Collaborate with regulatory authorities, insurers, and enforcement agencies to maintain compliance.
The Candidate:
* As Fire Risk Assessor you must have specialist knowledge of fire safety legislation and its applications to housing.
* Knowledge of the requirements for good fire safety management and maintenance operations.
* Knowledge of Fire Risk Assessment process and guidance/best practice (PAS 79).
* Minimum 3 years' experience within the fire safety sector, property management or similar sector.
* Experience of managing or advising on fire safety in a medium to large organisation.
* Experience in researching, developing, and implementing policy and strategy to meet business requirements.
* Experience of working with others to deliver change.
* Experience of preparing and presenting reports in a range of settings.
* Experience of completing and reviewing fire risk assessments or audits for housing assets.
