DESCRIPTION Summary of the course: The machining Apprentice role is a developmental position within the plant operations function. During the apprenticeship you will work 5 days per week, this will initially be full time in college for the first academic year, and subsequently, 4 days per week in company with 1 day in college from the second academic year. The training provider for this role is Appris charity, Bradford. The working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm in college time, and 7.30am - 3pm when based on site. On completion of this apprenticeship, you will obtain a level 3 apprenticeship but you will also have the opportunity to complete a HNC level 4 in parallel with the apprenticeship during years 2 and 3 of study. RESPONSIBILITIES In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: - Conduct training on diverse machine tool processes, including CNC systems, through process rotations in Huddersfield Machining Cells to support the delivery of machined components for assembly and final customers. - Completion of daily Safety, Quality, and equipment checks while working to defined processes that deliver quality products on time to the internal customer. - Operating a range of machinery, including Cobots (Collaborative Robots), Fully Automated Robots, Gantry Feed systems, Machine Centers, Turning and Grinding, and Dynamic Balancing. - Ensuring your work meets required company and industry standards, taking responsibility for the quality of your output. - Working in an industry-leading environment that prioritizes Safety, Product Quality, Working Conditions, and Employee Development. - Flexibility within Huddersfield Turbo Plant, receiving training to meet operational requirements and develop high-value skills for your future career.
