H & J Martin Limited is an award winning facilities management and fit out firm operating centrally from headquarters in Belfast with offices in Dublin, Livingston and Cookstown. Their fit out business has enjoyed great success, securing prestigious contracts with many high profile retail and commercial premises. Due to this continued success and consistent growth, H&J Martin now seek to appoint a new Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding fit out team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and lead on the commercial aspect of projects with market leading clients in retail, office, leisure and hospitality. The successful candidate will also lead, develop and grow a high performing team including graduate quantity surveyors. With responsibility for reporting on overall financial performance of projects, they will provide cost and value engineering advice throughout the development of the project. They will prepare original cost estimates, bills of quantity and cost reviews at various stages of project design and construction, preparing monthly project cost value reconciliation and value chain analysis reports for management review. The role holder will build and maintain healthy and long term relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, managing the appointment of any sub-contractors, ensuring procurement is in line with business procedures and that the subcontract covers the scope of works. Applicants should possess the following skills and experience: Significant experience in quantity surveying ideally within fit out or in a similarly fast-paced setting. Experience of leading and developing an engaged team including junior quantity surveyors. Proven track record of leading on and delivering commercial success through contracts. Evidence of building solid working relationships with colleagues and customers and of influencing and negotiating successful outcomes. Demonstrable understanding of applicable UK law.
