Sevenoaks Swimming Club in Kent is looking to appoint a passionate, suitably qualified swimming coach to join our competitive and friendly swimming club as a Squad Coach. We are a SwimMark-accredited club and operate a Learn to Swim programme and a full structure of competitive squads.
The right candidate must have a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Coaching Award and be flexible with attending galas at weekends and covering sessions.
This is an exciting opportunity to undertake the role of Squad Coach, developing swimmers working towards County, Regional and National levels and ensuring there is a high-quality training environment. As well as this, the Squad Coach will work with the existing coaching team led by Head Coach Sacha Djerfi to continue to develop the overall club.
Job Description
Qualification: Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award
Working Hours: 8-12 hours poolside coaching plus meets.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake the role of Squad Coach developing swimmers working towards County, Regional and National levels: primarily ensuring there is a high-quality training environment for each swimmer to reach their potential.
* Plan and deliver sessions for the Squads within the framework set by the Head Coach, that centres on meeting the needs of athletes with a view to reaching their full senior potential.
* Ensure there is a consistent approach towards technical standards.
* Have a passion for focusing on technique and skills to prepare athletes for progressive levels of competition.
* Actively contribute to a club environment that promotes enjoyment of the sport while maintaining the focus on success.
* Support the Arena and Kent Junior League teams.
* Support and develop the use of social media to promote Sevenoaks Swimming Club
* In addition to coaching sessions, there is required attendance at weekend galas, club events and competitions, meetings with the Head Coach, and wider coaching team meetings.
* Adhere to current Wavepower child safeguarding policies and procedures, and future updates as they occur.
Job Location:
The normal place of work will be at pools across Sevenoaks.

Qualifications and Experience
* Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Award
* Experience coaching Age Group/Youth Swimmers
* Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in Safeguarding of Children*
* IT Competent (Word/Excel/Email)
* Full UK driving license
* NPLQ or Rescue Test*
* First Aid Qualification*
* Land training/personal training qualifications
*These courses will be booked by the Club upon appointment to the role if not already held.
Hours of Work:
To include morning, evening and weekend sessions plus the flexibility to cover other sessions. Attendance at competitions as required by the Head Coach.
