About The Job
Working for a very well-established company in Little Hulton, Manchester, as an experienced and detail-orientated Senior Accountant and will be working within their finance team on a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP.
2. Tax Compliance: Conduct tax filings and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes.
3. Audit Coordination: Lead and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
4. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring financial integrity and running overall day-to-day accounting tasks.
5. Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide detailed reports to management.
6. Internal Controls: Develop and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
7. Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as Sage and other relevant tools to manage financial data. Strong command in Microsoft Excel is a must.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is preferred.
3. Proven experience in accounting roles, with a minimum of 4-5 years in the UK.
4. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and tax regulations.
5. Proficiency in accounting and finance software (Sage, Excel).
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
