Your Role You will accelerate the go-to-market strategy of the Clean Meat (foods made with cultured animal cells, also called cultivated and cultured meat) business. You will build domain authority and expand food safety relationships to ensure productive partnerships with regulatory bodies, key customers, peers, and non-government organizations. You will support advocacy concept development in close collaboration with internal and external interfaces. You will build on our strong regulatory foundation and advance the clean meat regulatory strategy and associated service development projects aimed at developing technologies that support the clean meat industry. As a regulatory expert, you will drive product compliance and consult with the internal team during offer development. You will contribute to scientific presentations and publications, as well as support internal and external regulatory training. You will train and support quality and operational teams to understand and adopt food safety requirements. The role will require you to monitor and identify key industry and regulatory trends and translate your observations in opportunities to support product and service development. You will advocate our Clean Meat strategy in relationships with industry associations, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders. Who You Are BS with 8 years’ experience, MS, with 4 years’ experience, or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or comparable life sciences field. Experience in regulatory management on food related issues including Food labeling Food safety Food quality management experience including food safety management systems such as HACCP. Experience with evaluations and interpretation of global food regulatory requirements Direct experience with relevant Food Safety Policies/Guidance (e.g. USDA, FDA, Heath Canada, EFSA, MHLW, GB (Guobiao) Standards, GFSI, Codex Alimentarius, JECFA, IFAC, etc.) Ability to build strong interaction with Marketing and Commercial teams Passion for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit Ability to travel (Domestic & some international travel) Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Boston hub area Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Food Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or comparable life sciences field. 4 years of experience in Food Safety and familiarity with the most risk management methods and QA/QC workflows Good understanding of Food Safety and novel food target markets, excellent understanding of applications used in markets and regulatory requirements History of building relationships with regulators Good process understanding of internal & external customer needs Experience with working on teams to launch new products in accordance with regulatory guidelines Strong sense of urgency, result oriented, self driven, excited to learn and develop new skills Good communication and organizational skills Understanding of value-added food qualification such as halal, kosher, natural, organic, etc. Interest in Clean Meat and Alternative Proteins field Public speaking and scientific writing experience What we offer: With us, there are always opportunities to break new ground.
