Duties as a Year 1 Teacher: Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that supports children’s development Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, ensuring each child makes progress Develop pupils’ early literacy, numeracy, and social skills through interactive and play-based learning Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support children’s learning and well-being Encourage children’s confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for school life Contribute to whole-school activities, trips, and events that enhance the learning experience Ideal Year 1 Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 1 A strong understanding of early childhood development and the national curriculum Excellent classroom management and the ability to create a nurturing learning environment A passion for education and a commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential as a Year 1 Teacher.
