Caretaker/Handyperson
Salary: Grade 5 SCP 5-6 (£21,855 - £22,220 actual salary)

We currently have a vacancy for a full time caretaker/handyperson. This position is for 37 hours per week, 42 weeks of the year (term time, plus INSET, plus 3 weeks).
The Wessex Multi-Academy Trust are looking to appoint a caretaker/handyperson; reporting to the central team and working directly in a number of our first/primary schools. Whilst this position is part of the central team, the postholder will be required to travel to and undertake work across multiple school sites as well as supporting the central office.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, suitably experienced individual to carry out a full range of duties to provide for compliance checks, general security and maintenance of school premises to include handyperson activities.
The post is for 37 hours per week and may include unlocking schools in the morning and/or locking up at the end of the day. Hours of work are to include mornings and afternoons and will be agreed with the successful candidate. Other tasks will include general repairs and maintenance to the school building, undertaking regular health and safety checks (including buildings and grounds access checks during bad weather), risk assessment checks such as fire procedures (. alarm/lighting checks) and re-stocking of consumables such as paper towels, soap etc.
Candidates need to be well organised, have good communication skills and be able work with a high degree of attention to detail. They will need to be highly organised, a team player and be happy to use their own initiative and work independently. Due to the nature of the role, the postholder will need to be able to fulfil the travel requirements.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years’ service.
