An exciting opportunity has arisen within our newly revamped Haematology secretarial department. We are looking for a dynamic individual, excited and eager to join us in our journey of improvement. The successful candidate will support the Medical Secretarial Team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service, outline new and efficient processes, and manage inpatient and outpatient waiting lists for our specialty, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy. You will be required to communicate appointments and admission-related information to patients and carers, answer queries both verbally and in writing, type correspondence within performance targets, and support the delivery of local and national NHS targets. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone with clerical experience in the NHS, but this is not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Good general education to include GCSE English or equivalent
* RSA 3 word processing or equivalent
Experience
* Secretarial and/or clerical experience
* Audio typewriting skills/Knowledge of medical terminology
* 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital setting
Skills
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office package
* Knowledge of the hospital EPR system
* Knowledge of patient administration and other related systems
* Previous reception duties in a healthcare setting
