Location: Based in Ware, Hertfordshire, England
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 17:00
Reporting into: General Manager – Indirect Report: Product Engineer
Role Overview:
This is a graduate entry position leading to a Product Engineer role within 2 years, with longer-term prospects for advancement within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work alongside experienced engineering and production staff to support the company’s technical and ongoing product development objectives.
* Produce engineering drawings to instruction within a 2D CAD or 3D (SolidWorks) drafting environment.
* Perform mathematical and trigonometry calculations.
* Build an in-depth knowledge and understanding of polymer processing applications to become a recognized expert within the organization and beyond.
* Any tasks reasonably requested that are within the employee’s capability and competency.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Produce fully detailed manufacturing drawings and liaise with sub-suppliers for drawing approvals.
* Review orders received and complete the work sheet, giving clear directions to the workshop for the scope of work to be carried out.
* Work closely with the General Manager, sales personnel, and product engineers to provide technical solutions for design and manufacture of new processing components.
* Visit customers both in the UK and overseas to discuss and review engineering and design issues.
* Carry out in-house and on-site measuring for extrusion screws and barrels using appropriate engineering measurement tools.
* Establish appropriate corrective action for manufacturing or supplier deviation reports raised for components being supplied, in agreement with works manager and inspector.
Ideal Qualifications and Skills:
* BSc or equivalent qualification/experience in a mechanical engineering discipline.
* Knowledge and understanding of engineering component manufacturing.
* Demonstrable ability to produce accurate detailed mechanical engineering drawings.
Personal Attributes:
* A thirst for knowledge and continuous learning about screws, barrels, and coatings, their design, processes, and manufacturing.
* Interest in investigating new technologies for suitability to enhance screw and barrel specifications.
* Ability and willingness to learn new systems and engineering procedures.
* Must be IT literate and familiar with 2D and 3D drafting software.
* Good communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work within tight schedules and manage several tasks simultaneously.
* A driving license to travel within the UK as and when required.
