Position: Data Centre Day Supervisor
Location: Slough
Salary: Up to £65k DOE
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
Are you an experienced leader in critical environments looking for a new challenge? We are recruiting a skilled Data Centre Day Supervisor to join the team of an established Service Provider on their latest contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key leadership role, supporting the day-to-day operations of a major data centre facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage a team of non-shift engineers and facilities management operatives, setting clear goals and objectives, overseeing performance, and driving continuous improvement.
Operations & Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operational activities of critical infrastructure, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is carried out to the highest standards.
Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for client service requests, coordinating activities with client representatives to ensure alignment with the client's scope of work (SOW).
Compliance & Safety: Act as a Qualifying Supervisor (QS) under NICEIC, ensuring compliance with all testing and certification requirements. Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, conducting audits and dynamic risk assessments as needed.
Critical Systems Management: Support the management of Pressure Systems, Confined Spaces, and other critical systems. Assist the Data Centre Manager in handling priority incidents (P1/P2/P3) to ensure uptime and service reliability.
Supplier Management: Oversee subcontractors and supply chain partners, ensuring high performance and compliance with site standards. Act as a procurement champion, epitomising value and cost efficiency.
Continuous Improvement: Drive training and development plans for the engineering team, ensuring ongoing professional growth and technical excellence.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience as a Supervisor, Pressure Systems AP, or High Voltage AP in a critical environment is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge: Strong understanding of building services, data centre operations, and critical infrastructure management. Proven track record of managing compliance in health, safety, and environmental standards.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience in team management, succession planning, and performance optimisation. Ability to stay calm under pressure and make decisive actions.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
Qualifications:
Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.
HVAP (preferred)
Health & Safety certification (preferred).
Ability to obtain BPSS and SC security clearances (if not already held).
