A bit about the role We're looking for 2 Team Leaders, one to work in our Silverton Short Breaks Service and one for our Silverton South service. In your role as Team Leader Residential, you'll lead, inspire and motivate the team to deliver meaningful support that changes children's lives. The Team Leader Residential is a dual role that is split between offering direct support to the young people while undertaking administrative and organisational tasks. You'll have responsibility for rota management, lead on shifts, support staff in their personal development and assist the Registered Manager with the day to day running of the service. Through the direct support, you'll be part of an exceptional team who work together to develop and deliver person-centred care and support plans. About the services Silverton Short Breaks Service in Hamilton offers residential short breaks to children and young people from the ages 5yrs - 18yrs who have disabilities. We work to reduce the impact of the disability on the child's day to day life by providing support for them to participate, make choices, enjoy new experiences, make friendships and be part of their local community. At the same time parents and carers can have a much-needed break knowing their child is in a safe, fun and enriching environment. Silverton South service in Blantyre offers community short breaks to children and young people from the ages 5-23yrs who have disabilities. We work together with families and professionals to plan a child's support with their individual budgets in line with SDS (self-directed support to ensure the child feels involved in their community. At the same time enjoys the childhood experience and builds their confidence whilst developing the families resilience to deal with day -to day challenges of their care giving duties. How you'll help to create brighter futures Some key responsibilities for the role of Team Leader Residential are; Providing direct line management to a team of residential staff to deliver high standards of care. Supporting staff team development through training opportunities, staff supervision, and multidisciplinary working. Leading shifts and working with the Registered Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policy and procedure. Working to achieve positive outcomes for individual children and young people and contributing to the achievement of an outstanding, good or equivalent rating in external inspection including deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager. Let's talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: To be SSSC registered, HNC Social care & SVQ Children and young people (or equivalent) and SVQ4 in leadership and management or (willing to work towards). Previous experience of supervising staff and coaching and supporting staff to reach a competent standard. Significant experience of working with children and young people with disabilities. To be able to effectively and safely deal with children and young people with behaviours of concern. Good knowledge of Safeguarding, and keeping young people safe.
