We are looking to appoint a Security & Response Team Leader to manage the tasking, deployment, operational activity and welfare of one of the small teams of Security and Response officers. The team’s primary purpose is providing a customer-focused and professional service in order to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors to the University. Additionally, they safeguard the security of University buildings and their contents, protect the fabric of University buildings from damage by fire, flood and theft, and provide an initial point of contact for security-related issues, incidents or student welfare concerns. They also liaise with relevant University professional services or schools, and the emergency services when necessary.
The Team Leader will be required to work alongside their team on shifts providing a 24/7, all year-round service working a 12-hour day shift / night shift pattern. The teams work a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift pattern rotating between sets of dayshifts and sets of nightshifts.
A Premium Hours Payment of an additional 1/3rd time uplift is paid for hours worked between 10 pm and 6 am where those hours are not subject to any other overtime rate. This equates to an approximate 11% uplift in salary which is reflected in the on-target earnings shown above.
Applicants require to demonstrate they have the ability manage, motivate and develop staff, have well developed IT skills, good communication skills, investigation and planning skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a full UK driving licence.
