Job Description
Zenith People are working with our client who are recruiting for a Machinery Engineer on a permanent basis. Working as part of a Project team, who ensure the smooth running of a Manufacturing Plant, you will be responsible for process and plant equipment, whilst providing support to several different departments.
Responsibilities:
1. Represent the engineering department in all equipment aspects.
2. Support the plant development, working within a multi-disciplined team.
3. Ensure all site machinery is safe and legally compliant from design to integration and implementation, attending design reviews and working with equipment suppliers.
4. Set & Measure facility performance.
5. Agree equipment strategies to ensure equipment OEE is achieved and improved while life cycles are managed and maximized.
6. Provide technical support for maintenance to ensure equipment is kept in first class condition.
7. Ability to form a refurbishment strategy.
8. Planning, Schedule Control & Project Management.
9. Procurement of production equipment & processes.
10. Must always be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
Skills:
1. Good inter-communication & report writing skills.
2. Computer literate, MS project, Excel etc.
3. Able to demonstrate a positive and logical attitude.
4. Good negotiation skills.
5. Planning, Schedule Control & Project Management.
6. The capacity to quickly learn and absorb new technologies.
Education:
1. Technical Degree / Certificate or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
Additional:
1. Strong communication skills and a confident manner – able to do presentations etc.
2. Demonstrate management of contractors, and interfacing with potential equipment suppliers.
3. The ability to travel domestically and internationally as and when required.
4. The desire for personal future growth.
Specific Technical Skills:
1. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background.
2. Knowledge of the latest machinery standards.
3. Some PLC and systems knowledge is desirable but not essential (Siemens / Mitsubishi etc.).
4. Experience in complex technical manufacturing processes and/or special purpose assembly machines would be a distinct advantage.
5. Knowledge of current legislation of machinery standards.
6. Experience working within APQP, IAFT framework desirable.
