Job Description
JOB TITLE: Trustee Experience and Governance Manager
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds and Halifax
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this Opportunity
Lloyds Banking Group's pension schemes for its current and former employees are some of the UK's largest. They are run by a trustee board. The trustee directors are responsible for ensuring that the assets of these pension schemes are properly invested and benefits are paid to members when due. The trustee directors are helped in their day-to-day activities - governance, finance and reporting, member services, investments, managing risk - by an in-house executive, a team of over 40 colleagues.
As part of the executive, you will support more than 300,000 current and former Lloyds Group colleagues and their families. At this scale, high quality governance is critical for good member outcomes.
Core purpose of the role
You will:
* be the go-to contact for the most senior decision-makers, understanding their responsibilities, needs, and preferences.
* make trustee meetings efficient and effective, supporting chairs and presenting items to senior decision-makers.
* run high-profile projects and strategic pieces, like effectiveness reviews, adviser appointments, and member-nominated trustee exercises.
* ensure that decisions are made by the right people at the right time, taking account of the right information and advice, and recorded appropriately.
* be passionate about governance policies, processes, and risk management, running onboarding for new directors and trustee training.
* mentor and support colleagues to maintain and improve quality.
* enjoy working in a variety of environments: remotely, in the office, and in virtual and in-person meetings.
* run the reporting of key performance indicators.

* An eye for detail and the ability to implement written processes and policies effectively.
* Approachability and empathy to understand colleagues' perspectives.
* Confidence to share ideas and capture learning for autonomous work.
* Willingness to build technical knowledge and use judgment effectively.
* Clear, concise, and accurate written communication skills.
We value transferrable skills from similar roles, not limited to secretariat or governance roles. Pensions knowledge is not essential; we will help you learn.
