A teaching opportunity within the Waves programme at Springfield has arisen for candidates interested in working with young people with special educational needs. The Focus provision encompassing the Shores, Waves and Focus groups is for students on the autistic spectrum whose autism can have a profound effect on how they manage in their day to day lives and interact with the wider world.
The aim of all programmes is to support our students to develop their own communication and understanding skills in an effort to grow their confidence, and to establish effective support strategies which will help them in their personal lives, at college and beyond. Learning programmes and additional therapeutic, medical or behavioural interventions will offer a high degree of differentiation where required depending on the specific outcomes and provision need stated in any individual EHCP. Students may have a wide range of communication, physical, emotional and behavioural support needs as described in their respective Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
